Alright, let's explain this mess of a duo. Dillon was a very dangerous man. He was involved in gangs, and he was always in and out of juvenile hall.
A bad boy was very alluring to Darcy... that is, until she became pregnant.
She told him that the gang life and drugs must stop so they can raise a family together.
Thinking that she would never leave him, Dillon dismissed her fair warning and continued down his path of drugs and violence.
The final words she spoke to him as a lover were "I will always love you, but I love our unborn son more." From there she left back home and never returned.

It took only a few months for Dillon to straighten up, but it was too late. His son was already being raised by a second father, and Darcy completely moved on.
Dillon hated the man, but he didn't care because whether he liked it or not, Marcus was Leigh's father too.
Marcus told him "If you try to pull me out of Leigh's life, you'll only push him out of yours. That's not a threat, but advice."
Eventually they all came to an agreement and became cordial. The families are blended, and throughout their childhood sometimes Darcy's kids would spend the Summer at Dillon's house.

Other Info: Dillon feels like Darcy is truly the one who got away. He has since married, but he knows that if he just changed when she asked, he could have had the perfect life. Still to this day Darcy says leaving Dillon while she was 8 months pregnant was the most difficult decision she has ever made. That moment was one of the few in Dillon's life where he actually cried.
